Cuppas and good company this NAIDOC Week
Posted on June 23rd, 2021
Celebrating the history, culture and achievement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, CentacareCQ will be hosting a special morning tea on Tuesday 6th July as part of NAIDOC Week.
The morning tea will be held out the front of the CentacareCQ office, 16 Bolsover Street, from 10am to 11.30am.
CentacareCQ and Family Relationship Centre staff will be hosting the event, offering light food, cups of coffee and tea as well as good conversation to those who attend.
Family Relationship Centre Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner Letella Prior said the morning tea was a great way to get together and celebrate this moment in the year.
“NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but people from all walks of life,” she said.
“We’re looking forward to sharing stories with the elders who attend the morning tea as well as anyone else in the community who wishes to come along.”
Letella said the team would be available to help anyone attending with information on the services available at CentacareCQ and the Family Relationship Centre including aged care and disability services, employee assistance program, counselling and family support.
