Let’s be School Savvy
Posted on November 16th, 2018
WHILE most families are eagerly counting down the days until school holidays kick off, CentacareCQ is about to embark on a very special initiative.
The non-for-profit organisation has launched School Savvy – a Central Queensland wide campaign designed to assist families with school-aged children to give them the best possible chance to a brighter future.
School Savvy provide the basics required to get back to school, at very little cost including pre-loved uniforms, and stationery supplies.
As part of the initiative, CentacareCQ will hold pop-up stores throughout Central Queensland in mid-January including Mount Morgan, Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast.
CentacareCQ’s School Savvy project coordinator Anna Morris and assistant coordinator Danielle Mitchel said it was the first year the initiative had been held.
“We are very excited to be launching such a great initiative into our community,” they said.
“We have been fortunate enough to partner with Vinnies, who have embraced the initiative and will be assisting us greatly by putting aside the pre-loved uniforms that are donated to their stores.
“Likewise, Lifeline has also thrown their support behind us, allowing us to have their uniform stock available for purchase at our pop-up stores.
“We would also like to thank the generosity of local business Evans Edwards Charter Accountants to come on board as our first business sponsor. Businesses who would like to be involved can contact CentacareCQ on 1300 523 985 or send us an email at schoolsavvy@centacarecq.com.
