Pioneers of social services

THE concept was simple.
Construct a holistic approach to social services in the community.
If not for the compassion and initiative of two of Central Queensland’s proactive pioneers of the Catholic Church, Sister Anne Marie Kinnane and Father Francis Gilbert, CentacareCQ would not be the respected community service provider it is today.
Locally operated in the region for more than 40 years, CentacareCQ has enhanced the lives of thousands within the Diocese – stretching from Mackay in the north, to Bundaberg in the south and out to the Central West.
Throughout the decades (since 1974), the not-for-profit organisation has grown its service to include care for the elderly and those living with a disability, community transport and counselling for individuals and families.
CentacareCQ also specialises in family services, help for those involved in domestic and family violence, mental health support, and a wide range of advocacy and community education.
The local, friendly and professional team are passionate about helping clients have their individual needs met and welcome everyone regardless of religion, race, age, economic circumstance or ethnic background.
Aged care:
EACH and every client is valued at CentacareCQ with the intention of assisting and supporting them to live independently and safely in their homes for as long as possible.
With a strong focus on flexibility, the team can tailor service plan solutions to suit their individual needs and preferences in the areas of home care, transport, home and yard maintenance, social group activities, case management and counselling,
NDIS:
CHOICE is more relevant than ever when it comes to services and CentacareCQ is excited to be at the forefront of it all.
From Plan Managers and disability services through to counselling, professional supervision and ACCESSCQ (employee assistance program), CentacareCQ can support, guide and give every individual the opportunity to thrive.
Family Relationship Centre:
IN addition to aged care and disability support programs, CentacareCQ also operates the Family Relationship Centre – a service which offers information, support and referral to families, couples and children in all stages of their lives.
The Family Relationship Centre can assist in promoting healthy family relationships, help to prevent conflict, encourage agreement rather than litigation and promote the right of children to have meaningful relationships with both parents.
